The case studies are as follows: A 15 year old girl came to the office as a referral from Yeoville police station in July 2022.

Background information: The child was sexually abused by her uncle whilst together with him. The child was no longer willing to go to school and was displaying behavioural problems.

Intervention received: The child received six counselling sessions focusing on behaviour modification and therapy for the healing of the child.

Success after intervention: -There was a change of mindset and attitude towards school as the child returned back to school. —Fear of male figure was dealt with as the child’ self -esteem was regained and she  was able to connect with the opposite gender without having to generalize.

-The child was referred for court preparation sessions as the case had already been opened.
