At The Teddy Bear Foundation South Africa, we are deeply grateful for our longstanding partnership with Trap de Val, the iconic 100-miler gravel and MTB ride organized by Trap de Tracks. This incredible event has become more than just a challenging adventure on two wheels, it’s a powerful force for good, channeling the passion of the cycling community into vital support for abused children and their families.
A Partnership Rooted in Compassion
Trap de Val was born out of a profound recognition of the hidden crisis of child abuse in South Africa. The organizers, inspired by the urgent needs they witnessed, created this endurance ride specifically to raise funds and awareness for our cause. Since its early editions, including the inaugural rides and growing events in the 2020s, Trap de Val has directed its proceeds directly to The Teddy Bear Foundation. In the past, this partnership has enabled us to expand our holistic services, providing forensic medical examinations, counseling, court preparation, and therapeutic support to thousands of vulnerable children.
The funds raised have helped minimize secondary trauma for young survivors entering the child protection system, offering them a safe journey toward healing. We’ve seen firsthand how the generosity of riders, sponsors, and supporters has made tangible differences: more therapy sessions, stronger advocacy in courts, and preventive education programs in communities. Every pedal stroke in previous Trap de Val events has contributed to breaking the cycle of abuse, reminding us that collective action fueled by sweat, determination, and heart can transform lives.
Together, let’s ride for healing, hope, and a safer future for every child. Thank you to Trap de Val and the entire cycling community for your unwavering support.
